Dubai: Archaeologists in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have discovered potsherds dating back to around 3,000 B.C., WAM reported Tuesday.
The discovery was made in the Ed-Dur archaeological site in the emirate of Umm Al Qaiwain.
Officials said the broken pieces of pottery dates back to the Umm Al Nar civilisation.
The Culture, Youth and Community development ministry had earlier constituted a team to excavate the site.
The team also retrieved bronze arrow heads believed to be from the Iron Age, around 1,000 B.C.
