Mumbai: The Maharashtra unit of Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind yesterday paid more than six lakh in school fees on behalf of the students of the families who had fallen victims of the Behrampada fire last month in suburban Mumbai.
In the presence of state Jamiat leaders the principals of 12 schools, out of the 14 where Behrampada students study, were handed over cheques worth Rs 6,16,343. According to the Jamiat officials the remaining two schools will be given cheques after the list of their fire affected students is made available to the organization.
