Dhaka : The falling trend of the major rivers, including the Brahmaputra-Jamuna and the Ganges-Padma, have further improved the flood situation in Bangladesh, sources at
the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) said here Sunday.
The sources told BSS the overall flood situation might improve as the rivers are likely to maintain their falling trends.
But some of the rivers prone to flash floods due to on rush of upstream water in the north-east and in the south eastern hill basin have shown rising trends, the sources said.
Among the major rivers, the Brahmaputra-Jamuna, continued to fall and is likely to fall further during the next 24 to 72 hours.
