Rita Sahu of Purushottampur in Berhampur was admitted to a private nursing home Saturday with fever, but when she showed swine flu symptoms, she was referred to the Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College.

“She was admitted in our hospital with fever. Later she showed symptoms of swine flu. So as a matter of precaution we have referred her to the medical college,” said Subash Sahoo, a doctor of Sriram Nursing Home who was treating her.

He added that she does not have any travel history.

Birendra Patra, who was admitted to a Cuttack hospital with swine flu symptoms last week, has tested negative for the virus that has claimed six lives in India so far.
