Bhopal : Two women, who are students of an engineering college here, were abducted by a relative and his friends and one of them was raped, police said Monday.
The victims, who are cousins, are third year students of a private engineering college. Bunty Chauhan, a distant relative of theirs, offered to drop them home in his car Sunday but took them to a flat in Kolar locality instead and locked them up.
Bunty was accompanied by his friends Naman and Balli. When Bunty and Balli went out to buy food, Naman allegedly raped one of the women, a police official said.
The two, however, managed to slip into another room and locked it from inside and one of them telephoned her parents. The police were soon informed following which the girls were rescued, he added.
The police have registered a case of abduction and rape against the accused.
“The accused have been booked for abduction, rape and molestation and will be arrested soon,” said Kulwant Singh, a police officer.
