Local mediapersons expressed their anger and lodged their protest with the Gaya district administration.

“A security official of the Mongolian president stopped our entry by saying that Indian media are fake and not allowed in Mahabodhi temple,” a local mediaperson from an electronic news channel said.

Another reporter said the district administration invited the media to cover the Mongolian president’s visit but when they were not allowed to enter the temple, district authorities expressed their helplessness to do anything.

“District officials told us that they cannot help local media as it is a matter of diplomatic issue,” a local media person said.

The Mongolian president and his wife Khajidsurengiin Bolormaa visited the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya, about 110 km from here, Tuesday afternoon.
