Lucknow : A man, along with his daughter, opened fire at five people in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnore district Monday killing two on the spot and critically injuring the rest, police said.
The incident was reported in the Kambhour village of Bijnore district early Monday.
The accused, Akhtar and Fatima, are absconding after the incident. The injured were sent to Meerut for treatment.
“According to villagers, Akhtar sold his field and house a few months ago and was living with his daughter in the neighbouring village. It appears that Akhtar left the village after his neighbours accused him of having illicit relations with his daughter,” inspector Indra Mani Verma of Kotwali police station told IANS over phone.
The deceased, Hasimuddin and Rashid and the injured persons belong to the same family and were shot by Akhtar and Fatima outside their house when they were going to offer Namaz.
“Both of them used country-made pistols and fled from there firing indiscriminately in the air. They are absconding and we hope to nab them soon,” Mishra added.
