Abu Dhabi : Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday is arriving on the first official visit to the United Arab Emirates. His one-day trip to Abu Dhabi ends six-day tour of the Russian head of state during which he visited Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Indonesia and Australia.
Putin will arrive in Abu Dhabi at night and the first item on the agenda of his programme in the country is seeing the Treasures of the Moscow Kremlin exhibition. The exposition is opened at the Emirates Palace Hotel that will be the Russian leader’s residence for the time of the visit.
In the afternoon, an official ceremony of the Russian head of state’s meeting with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be held in front of the central entrance to the Mushrif palace.
Russian-Emirates talks and Putin’s conversation with Nahyan will be held in this palace. The parties are planning to sign bilateral documents on the results of the meeting. The visit will end with an official lunch given in honour of Putin on behalf of his UAE colleague.
