The recommendations of the fifth working group, headed by retired Kashmir High Court chief justice Saghir Ahmad, were reported in the media Thursday, a day after it submitted the report to the government here.

“It is one-sided, illogical and against the interests of Gujjars, who constitute 25 percent of the population of the state,” said Shamsher Ali Boken, president of Jammu and Kashmir Gujjars and Bakerwal Forum, a representative organisation of the nomadic tribes in the state.

He said that the working group has done “injustice” to the tribal communities.
