Raipur: Chhattisgarh, one of the states worst hit by Maoist insurgency, has received Rs.149 crore aid from the central government since 2005-06 for modernisisng its police force, a minister said here Wednesday.
In a written reply in response to a question asked by the opposition Congress, state Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar told the state assembly that Chhattisgarh has received the sum in a phase-wise manner for police modernization.
The BJP minister told the house that the government has already utilised Rs.139 crore.
