He was the first to formulate and to bring into effect by legislation the land reformation system. If at all the leftist has ruled the West Bengal, the great privilege and prestige have to be attributed to this great champion Jothi Basu. Indians have to be proud on his contribution in advancing the country in many of the projects for the state of West Bengal.

His share in minority communities’ rights and their welfare was par excellent and most deserved one, especially the unforgettable speech he rendered on National Integration Meet on November 1992. Besides, his efforts to involve himself in the propagation of secular system through out India are an exemplary behaviour and he stood a role model to be followed. In 1996 the United Front mooted Jothi Basu for prime ministerial candidate for which his party showed no inclination. This could be accounted for a historical blunder in India; otherwise Jothi Basu would have been the best Prime Minister negating the BJP’s advents. He has been the most ruled among the chief ministers of India, who really cared and had concern for the oppressed and downtrodden.

In the irreparable and irrevocable loss, TMMK shares the grief with all the members who bereaving and deprived in the Leftist Parties.
