Deputy Chief Minister Raghubar Das told reporters the state gets less mining royalty than Chhattisgarh and Orissa.

“The royalty on iron ore of same grade is very low in Jharkhand as compared to other states,” Das said.

Jharkhand gets Rs.773 per tonne of iron ore while the rates for Chhattisgarh and Orissa are Rs.1,846 and Rs.1,382 per tonne respectively.

“An all party delegation will soon go to New Delhi to meet the prime minister to request for an end to this disparity,” he said.
