For sure, the Mumbai Indians plan to go full blast in a bid to sustain their wining run that has stretched to seven from eight games. They are sitting pretty with 14 points and just one defeat in eight outings.

The coach of Mumbai Indians, Robin Singh said: “We will play the best team for tomorrow’s match. We do not want to lose the momentum since we have not still qualified for the semi-final. We will take this match with all seriousness. Maybe, after we are assured of semi-final slot, we might rest a few players.”

Muttiah Muralitharan, representing the home team, the Chennai Super Kings, said the Super Kings were brimming with confidence following their two consecutive wins at this very venue in the past one week.

“In this tournament, any side can beat any other and we are quite confident at the moment. We put up the highest total, our batsmen are in good form and we are looking forward to maintain the momentum,” said the Sri Lankan spin wizard.

He echoed Robin Singh’s point of view as the visiting coach pointed out that given the twists and turns of IPL, he would not like to take anything for granted.

Robin Singh said there was no question of resting any of the World Cup bound players like Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, contrary to popular theory in view of the position that Mumbai Indians are in.

On Tuesday’s match, Robin Singh, who hails from Chennai, and a former Tamil Nadu captain, said: “Chennai Super Kings is a good side. Anything can happen on a given day. We have to be consistent and look forward to a positive result.”

Quite obviously, the Mumbai outfit has plans for Super Kings batsmen, especially the in-form Murali Vijay.

“We have plans for everyone and we do have plans for Vijay too. I look at cricket as cricket. Things like which state I have played or which state I have captained do not matter. I am here with the team as a coach now and I need to win,” he said.
