Speaking at his weekly press briefing here Sunday, Hosseini reiterated that such visits and diplomatic consultations would help officials of other countries forge better understanding toward the realities inside Iran and regional issues.

After his convulsive allegations against the Iranian nuclear programme were faced with harsh global reaction, shifting from his previous stand, Kouchner voiced readiness to visit Iran and hold talks with senior Iranian officials.

Referring to the latest developments in Iraq, including the arrest of Mahmoud Farhadi, a member of an Iranian trade delegation by the US forces in Soleimanyeh in northern Iraq, Hosseini said no change has been witnessed in Washington’s policies.

Therefore, he added, the next round of Iran-US talks on Iraq would require taking all these issues into consideration.
