Chennai : The nationwide “India Trail” of Mercedes Benz was flagged off here today by Tamil Nadu government’s Transport Commissioner C.P. Singh and the company’s managing director and CEO, Wilfred Aulbur.
India Trail is aimed at showcasing the rich and diverse culture, heritage and natural beauty of India through the drive of all Mercedes-Benz cars available in the country, including the Viano, covering over 40,000 km between today and Oct 10.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Aulbur said: “We have completed 12 successful years of operations in this country. We see a lot of parallels between the country and the Mercedes-Benz brand – both have a distinguished history, a strong lineage and epitomise diversity. To celebrate this connection and commemorate our strong ties with the nation, we have organised this pan-India drive. Modern Mercedes-Benz diesels are powerful, economical and environment-friendly. Hence, our portfolio of diesel cars emerged as an obvious choice for the drive.”
