New Delhi: Power generation major NTPC will soon start work on a feasibility report for establishing a 1,320 MW power plant in Gujarat, a company press release said Thursday.
A meeting to review the status of the project was held between Minister of State for Power Bharatsinh Solanki and Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel.
The proposed plant will have two units of 660 MW each, which will be powered by a blend of domestic and imported coal.
The meeting was also attended by NTPC Chairman R.S. Sharma and top Gujarat power department officials.
“NTPC is initiating the site specific studies for establishing the techno-economic feasibility of the project. The feasibility report of the project is likely to be ready by March 2011,” the release said.
