Brussels : The European Union has condemned the bomb attack targeting Poland’s ambassador in Baghdad Edward Pietrzyk.
The ambassador is reportedly injured and is now in hospital.
“We obviously condemn this terrorist attack, this terrible crime. We wish the ambassador and all others injured or hurt in this attack speedy recovery,” European Commission spokesman Johannes Laitenberger told reporters Wednesday.
“This kind of attack will not stop the EU from continuing the work in Iraq for the benefit of the Iraqi people,” he said, adding that “we express solidarity with Poland and the Polish people.”
