“Seventy-four new cases have come up in Delhi today (Tuesday). However, there were no deaths,” said N.K. Yadav, chief medical officer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

Meanwhile, the private hospitals of the capital continued to admit suspected dengue patients. According to them, the number of people infected by the vector-borne disease in the capital runs in thousands.

According to the MCD, two people have died of dengue in Delhi this year.

However, three more deaths, suspected to be from dengue, have also been reported.

With the numbers rising every day, a worried Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Thursday said that monitoring of the dengue status would be done on a daily basis and fogging would be intensified at Games venues.
