Jamia Millia to celebrate UN International Day of Peace

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia’s School Hostels will organize ‘Kite Flying Competition’ on 21st September to celebrate UN International Day of Peace. The competition will be organized at Jamia’s school lawns from 3 PM onwards wherein students will participate to mark the day and to give the messages of peace to the world.

Professor S.M. Rashid, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will be the chief guest of the occasion.

The International Day of Peace also known as the World Peace Day is celebrated on 21st September every year globally since 1981. This day is dedicated to the cause of peace and is observed by countries across the world.

“Jamia Millia Islamia which affirms its commitment to upholding values of universal peace will also celebrate the day because this symbolic gesture is not just to enshrine the principle of peace which is all the more dear in today’s world, but also to generate consciousness among young students” says a release from Jamia.
