Ahmedabad: A Gujarat court Thursday sentenced to life imprisonment a man who raped his minor daughter.
Passing the sentence on 34-year-old Bharatsinh Rathod, a resident of in Amraiwadi area in the city, Additional Sessions Judge P.A. Waghela termed his offence “unforgivable”.
According to police, Rathod had repeatedly raped his 15-year-old daughter at his residence between April 28 and 29, 2009. His wife Rekhaben reportedly helped Rathod to restrain their daughter during the act. However, the court gave her the benefit of doubt.
The minor has been sent to the care of a protection home for women.
