Bhopal: Reacting to Congress protests against former Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief K.S. Sudarshan, cadres of the Tarunai Manch, an RSS wing, Monday pelted stones at the state Congress office here, but were pushed back, the police claimed.
Some Congress workers gathered near the Congress office but police prevented a direct confrontation between the two groups, and controlled the situation by pushing back the Tarunai Manch activists.
Since Nov 12, Congressmen were hitting the streets everyday demanding an apology from the RSS for Sudarshan’s derogatory remarks against Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.
Superintendent of police Yogesh Chaudhary said the agitators were prevented from pelting stones at the Congress office. “Police force was deployed around the Congress office before their arrival and the activists were intercepted.”
State Congress president Suresh Pachouri could not be contacted for comment.
