Ranchi: Jharkhand’s vigilance bureau Saturday attached the house of a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official in a corruption case, police said.
“We attached Alakhdeo Prasad’s house. He was absconding and his arrest warrant was pending for last several months,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhusudan Bari said here.
Prasad is charged with accepting bribes in the appointment of paramedical staff when he was the deputy commissioner of Hazaribagh district. He was also the chairman of the board which appointed paramedical staff and other officials.
Arrest warrant against him was issued in April this year. Notices were also sent to his house in Ashoknagar area of Ranchi, but he did not surrender. He is still on the run.
