Bangalore: Democracy is bound to return in the Arab-Muslim world, said E. M. Abdul Rahiman, chairman, Popular Front of India (PFI). Terming the dictatorial regime of Egypt as “the puppets regime of neo-colonialism” Mr. Rahiman expressed solidarity with the popular uprising in the country.
Mr. Rahiman referred to the anti-government protests gaining momentum in Yemen and Jordan as “winds of inevitable change” which will soon sweep across the entire Arab-Muslim world. He also expressed hope that other dictatorial governments in the Arab world will soon take a lesson from the example of Tunisia and Egypt and will pave way for the restoration of civil and human rights in their respective country.
Highlighting the strategy of US and Israel, the Mr. Rahiman cautioned against the possible hijack of the pro democracy movement, by the agents of neo-colonial and Zionist forces like Omar Sulaiman with an ulterior motive of keeping away from power Muslim Brotherhood and other democratic forces.
He also appealed to the Government of India to play a pro-active role for the safe return of democracy in Egypt.
