Over 15 arrested for attack over Benazir

ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (KUNA) — Police has arrested more than 15 suspects in connection with the two suicide attacks on Pakistans former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto last week on the eve of her end to self-imposed exile and return to the country after eight years.
More than 15 suspects have been arrested and ten of them are members of outlawed militant groups, police sources told KUNA Wednesday.
Bhutto escaped attack on her heavily guarded convoy in Karachi on Thursday but the explosion killed near 150 and wounded over 550 others.
She has blamed three certain persons in the establishment for the attack and demanded to enlist foreign experts to track down the culprits. Her demand has been rejected by the government and urged to trust investigations carried out by local agencies.
She has said that her lawyer has received a threatening letter from an unidentified friend of al-qaeda and demanded the government for more security. She said that another assassination attempt has been planned on her at her house in Karachi or Larkana.
Bhutto said the writer claimed to be the head of the suicide bombers and a friend of al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden.
Bhutto has come back to contest forthcoming general elections after signing a power-sharing deal with President General Musharraf, which paved way for the presidents re-election and will introduce amendment in the constitution for Benazirs re-election as Prime Minister for the third time.
Though, officially the deal has been finalized and signed but recent rhetoric between the sides has suggested change in the future power setup with major role to be played by the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of one of the six-party religious alliance.
