Samastha Ulema Conference begins in Kottakkal

Malappuram: The Ulema conference organized by the Samastha Kerala Jam’iyathul Ulema (AP faction) began yesterday when Sayyidali Bafaqi Thangal hoisted the flag at around 4.30 pm. The three-day conference is being held at the Varakkal Mullakkoya Thangal Nagar at Kottakkal in Malappuram. Thousands of scholars are reported to attend the conference, which raises the slogan ‘Islam for completeness’.

Yusuful Bukhari and E Sulaiman Musliyar led the visits to the Mampuram Maqam and Moulana Abdul Bari Maqam, prior to the conference. Ponmala Abdul Qadir Musliyar, state president of Sunni Yuvajana Sangham (SYS), inaugurated the ‘ideology conference’ held at 7 pm. SYS state secretary Perod Abdurahman Saqafi and Maliyekkal Sulaiman Saqafi spoke in the conference, presided over by Kottoor Kunhammu Musliyar, member of the Samastha Mushawara. Several leaders and scholars in the organisation including Ibrahim Khaleeelul Bukhari and Panakkad Husain Shihab Thangal were present.

Dubai Islamic Affairs Grand Mufti Dr Ahmed Abdul Azeez Haddad is attending the conference today, when the Samastha general secretary AP Aboobaker Musliyar will speak. Different sessions dealt in the conference include Thouheed, Da’wah, Fiq’h, ‘Islam, politics and society’, ‘world Muslims and Islamic movements’, and ‘Islam and economics’.
