Pakistani plane makes emergency landing

Islamabad : A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight with 51 people on board made an emergency landing in Punjab province Friday after one of its engines caught fire. There were no reports of any casualties.

The flight en route to Lahore was forced to land at the Sheikh Zayed international airport in Rahim Yar Khan about five minutes after take-off, the Online news agency reported.

The air traffic control received a message from the pilot saying the aircraft would have to land as one of its engines had caught fire.

All the passengers and crew members were safe, it said.

After a complete check, the flight again took off for its destination.
