Mumbai : Construction and engineering major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Wednesday said it had bagged a contract worth Rs.1,450 crore ($317.5 million) from Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) for erecting an “offshore process-cum-living quarters platform project” at the Krishna Godavari (KG) basin.
“GSPC awarded this offshore process-cum-living quarters platform project to L&T to meet its challenging target of production of hydrocarbon,” the company said in a regulatory filling.
According to the company, the project was bagged under international competitive bidding and the facility would be made operational by July 2013.
The offshore facility is the second such order by GSPC, which earlier placed a contract for a well-head platform for development of oil fields in the KG basin.
The engineering major added that the new facility for GSPC would add around six million standard cubic metres of hydrocarbon gas per day.
The execution of the project would be led by the company’s manufacturing facility at Kattupalli in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
