Beijing : Over 120,000 people were moved to safer places after continuous rains caused two dykes to breach in an eastern China province, officials said Friday.
The dykes breached in Zhejiang province Thursday, flooding at least 18 villages, Xinhua reported.
The provincial flood control office said torrential rains triggered the floods and landslides that toppled around 2,400 houses.
Around two million people from 43 counties were affected by the disaster.
The government has provided the necessary supplies worth 300,000 yuan ($46,000) to the affected people, officials said.
