Pakistani foreign office spokesman comments on imposition of emergency

ISLAMABAD, NOV 7, SPA — Friendly countries while expressing their views on imposition of emergency in Pakistan should realize the ground conditions that prompted this action, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Sadiq saida.
Emergency has been imposed to control the growing menace of terrorism in Pakistan, he told the state-run Pakistan Television.
He said that emergency is entirely an internal matter of Pakistan and we expect the
friendly countries to understand the conditions which have prompted the government to take this extraordinary step .
The spokesman said that terrorism and extremism are the international challenges in the contemporary world and Pakistan is doing its best to curb this menace alongside its international partners.
