Jawwad also decried the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which has opposed the act of newly appointed governor Dr S Ahmed. “It reflects the real face of BJP which is against Muslims and is dividing the country on religious lines. There is no harm if anyone takes oath in the name of ‘Allah’,” said Jawwad during a function organised by Noor-e-Hidayat Foundation at Asafi Masjid on Wednesday.

Naib Imam of historical Tile Wali Masjid, Maulana Fazlul Mannan Rahmani too has welcomed the act of Governor Dr Syed Ahmed. “It is a natural thing if a Muslim takes oath in the name of Allah. It shows that governor will be upright and just in his actions as he has taken the oath in the name of Allah. It should not be objected as everyone has the right to practice his own religion in the country,” he said.
