Sharma, who is a Rajya Sabha member, made the remark Wednesday at a function at the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy to mark the Urban Body Service Day in Ujjain.

Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection P.C. Jain was also present at the function.

“Not only most of the ministers are in the habit of making hollow announcements, but Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself is the biggest ‘ghoshna veer’,” he said.

State party president Prabhat Jha Thursday removed Sharma, saying he was instructed by the party’s national president Nitin Gadkari to take action.

A show-cause letter was issued to Sharma for his statement.
