Calicut: Madhyamam (Kerala based Malayalam News Publications) is all set to launch its visual media initiative, Media One TV. ‘Media One’ intends to redefine the conventional visual media by following the path of value-based journalism that Madhyamam claims to have been strongly advocating and spreading ever since its inception.
Madhyamam has built its image on being a media which stood upright for the empowerment of minorities, dalits and other marginalized sections of the society. They have been phenomenal in not just taking up their issues but often gave space to writers and intellectuals among them. Social critics have always cited out the role played by Madhyamam in unveiling the fascist atrocities and conspiracies against minorities.
Madhyamam expects Media One TV to bring about drastic changes in the broadcasting arena. Besides news and news-based programmes Media one TV intends to telecast family focused programmes as well. Media one TV, have great hopes in their dynamic journalists and the legacy of its mother publications, by which they expects to ignite a new visual fiesta.
Mr. Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister of Kerala, will lay the foundation stone of Media One TV’s headquarters and studio complex at Velliparambu, Calicut on November 28, 2011; at 3 pm. Mr. T Arifali, Madhyamam Chairman, will preside over the function. Dr. M K Muneer, Minister for Social Welfare, will be the chief guest.
