New Delhi : India and Bulgaria signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on healthcare and medicine here Monday to increase cooperation in the sector, a statement said.
The deal was signed by Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and his Bulgarian counterpart Stefan Konstantinov.
“Each country can learn from the experiences of the other and share best practices and success stories. The MoU would inter alia cover issues of medical services, public health and prophylactics (preventive medicine), medical science and training of medical personnel,” Azad said in a statement.
“Cooperation between the contracting parties may be in the forms of exchange of medical and scientific information, exchange of experience on priority issues, participation of scientists in scientific medical activities organised in each country, short-term exchange of medical personnel or joint projects on subjects of mutual interest,” Azad added.
The Bulgarian health minister highlighted the importance of training of medical personnel and exchange of scientific information with special attention to area of prophylactics.
The Bulgarian delegation, led by President of National Assembly of Bulgaria, Tsetska Tsacheva, is on an official visit to India till Thursday.
