Mumbai: Amid controversy over the arrest of 13/7 Mumbai blast accused, Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind (Arshad Madani group) announced on Wednesday that they will fight the case of 13/7 Mumbai serial blasts accused.
Announcing about the decision, taken in the State level meeting, Gulzar Azmi, Secretary, Legal Cell, Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind (Maharashtra) said, “After the discussion with the relatives of Naquee Ahmed, Nadeem Shaikh and others we concluded that when the National Commission for Minorities inquired about their arrest and torture, from the Maharashtra Government, the Mumbai ATS falsely declared them terrorists.”
Home Ministry of India also has asked about the arrest of these two accused who were helping Delhi Police and Intelligence Bureau to nab the real culprits. How could they become terrorists? asked Gulzar Azmi.
Referring to the 9 Malegaon blast accused who were released on bail, Azmi said, “Even at that time, the same atmosphere was created but after fighting a long battle and the confession of Swami Aseemanand they are on bail.”
He also told that Mehmoodul Hasan Hakimi, the Spokesperson of Anjuman Bashindagaane Bihar met Jamiat Ulema and requested for a legal help.
Jamait has hired senior Lawyers who will fight their cases. He said, “Since the afternoon of Tuesday we were told that the accused were charged with fake SIM card case but suddenly ATS Chief declared them as Terrorists in 13/7 blast case.”
Maharashtra ATS Chief Rakesh Maria announced in a press conference on Tuesday that they have cracked the 13/7 Mumbai blast case that ripped off at three places in south Mumbai on 13th July 2011.
