Aligarh: Interim Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Dr. Noor Mohammad said that his first priority is to bring the University to normal and expedite the procedure of appointment of the permanent Vice Chancellor of the University. He was addressing the first press conference as VC of AMU on Tuesday.
He said that being an alumnus of this University, he was fully aware of the thought process of the University and he would make efforts to provide the students with best of opportunities available to make a better career in future.

Dr. Noor Mohammad said that his approach towards the students would be that of a father.
However, everyone should observe extreme restraint and work while remaining in their limits. He stressed that students should respect their teachers and everyone should try to transform this great institution into a flourishing seat of multifarious attributes. He insisted that it was the responsibility of all to work in order to avoid the lawlessness and mismanagement in the campus.
Dr. Noor Mohammad urged the University fraternity not to let a situation attract external interference in the University affairs. Rather, it was highly appreciating to resolve the issues and redress the problems with mutual cooperation and collaboration. He said that the AMU Students’ Union and Teachers’ Association will be consulted while resolving their respective issues and no student or teacher shall be allowed to intervene the affairs of each other. Dr. Noor Mohammad categorically made it clear that nobody will be allowed to disturb the law and order situation in the University and in case of an adverse situation the district administration will be called to handle the situation according to the law of the land.
Dr. Noor Mohammad appeared concerned while referring to the cases of shortfall of attendance of a considerable number of students. He said that such students will be provided with an opportunity to make up their attendance by attending remedial classes and he was in no mood to let the students compromise with the academic standard of the University.
