“Will the government do anything about the falling rupee?” BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad asked, talking to reporters here.

“We are deeply concerned about the declining rupee… Inflationary pressure will be more stringent and adverse for the common people. But what amazes me is the almost complete inaction on the part of government,” he said.

BJP Spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman questioned the UPA for celebrating its three years in power.

“If you are celebrating the three years, it is disaster for the rest of nation; the country is suffering…” Sitharaman told IANS.

She said the UPA needed “a lot of introspection” since common people were suffering.
