Beijing: Fourteen bodies have been recovered following a mudslide in southwest China’s Sichuan province, the authorities said Monday.
Rescuers retrieved the 14 bodies from a rain-triggered mudslide in southwest China’s Sichuan province June 28 while 26 others remain missing, sources at the rescue command center said Monday.
Rescuers pulled out 12 bodies from the Jinsha river, a major stream of the Yangtze river and found another two in the mudslide-hit region, reported Xinhua citing sources.
The accident occurred at the construction zone of Baihetan Hydropower Station of China Three Gorges Corporation in Ningnan county June 28.
The dead and missing are the hydropower station workers and their family members who were living in a three-story building.
