Panaji : Goa Governor B.V. Wanchoo and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Tuesday condoled the death of union minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.
“I am deeply grieved to learn the sad demise of your beloved husband, Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh, a Union Cabinet Minister and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra,” Wanchoo said in his condolence message to Deshmukh’s widow, Vaishali.
Parrikar too expressed deep shock and sorrow over Deshmukh’s demise at a Chennai hospital after a brief illness.
“The country as a whole has lost an astute politician and savior of the masses and the void created by his death will be difficult to fill in,” he said.
