Johannesburg: At least three people were killed and six injured in a shooting incident in South Africa’s Gauteng province, police said Sunday.
The tragedy occurred as a group of armed people attacked residents of a settlement at the town of Fochville Saturday evening, reported Xinhua citing the South African Press Association which quoted police.
One resident was killed and several huts were burnt in one section of the settlement, while two others were shot dead in a shebeen in another section, the report said.
The attackers’ motive was unclear.
