Ajmer: The religious head of the Ajmer Dargah and great grandson of 12th century Sufi saint Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, Syed Zainual Abedin Ali Khan has appealed to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to raise official protest against the US government “for allowing its soil in creating and circulating an anti-Islamic movie intending to hurt the sentiments of Muslim across the globe.” He also appealed to Muslims to maintain peace and harmony in the light of Islamic values and traditions.
In his statement released on Saturday, Dewan Sahab strongly objected on the “repeated moves by ‘Devils’ club — US and Israel for defaming Islam and holy prophet. The anti-Islamic movie ‘The innocence of Muslims’ is a much calculated attempt to create Islamophobia.”
“Muslim world is deeply saddened by the content of this movie deliberately circulated on social networking sites i.e. Youtube,” said Dewan Sahab. The 14-min trailer of the movie has caused widespread violent protests in Arab World.
The Dargah head asked Indian government to apprise of the depleting law and order situation referring to protest in Chennai to the US high commissioner. “The way PM is withholding secular credentials in our country, he should strongly react on the western powers propaganda against Islam, which has 20 crore Muslims,” reads statement.
He further said that Indian government should stand with the values and principals enshrined in our constitution saying to raise voice against elements disrupting peace and harmony in the world.
