New Delhi : Justice Darmar Murugesan was Wednesday sworn in as the chief justice of the Delhi High Court by Lt. Gov. Tejendra Khanna.
Justice Murugesan was a judge of the Madras High Court and has recently been elevated and transferred to Delhi. Acting Chief Justice A.K. Sikri has been elevated as chief justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
He was administered the oath of office at 10 a.m. at the Raj Niwas, the official residence of the lt governor. The function was attended by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and other judges of the Delhi High Court.
Justice Murugesan was born on June 10, 1951 and was appointed as a judge of the Madras High Court on March 2, 2000.
