Lucknow : Two girls were killed Friday when a cracker stockpile exploded in a village in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The explosion took place in a makeshift godown in Badalkheda village in Lucknow district. The godown was gutted and fire tenders had a tough time dousing the fire.
The dead were identified as Rubina (15) and Shama (14).
Senior Superintendent of Police told IANS that the godown belonged to a man identified as Javed. The dead girls were his daughters.
The explosion took place when the girls opened the door of the godown.
