Kolkata: The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) here Wednesday felicitated its senior leader Samar Mukherjee on his 100th birthday.
A host of party leaders, including general secretary Prakash Karat and secretary of CPI-M’s West Bengal unit Biman Bose, were present at the function organised on the occasion in south Kolkata’s Dilkhusha Street, which has been Mukherjee’s address for decades.
Bose handed over to Mukherjee a plate of payesh (rice pudding) which he had himself prepared for him.
