New Delhi : A Delhi court Thursday sought a report on a traffic policeman’s plea seeking action against two judges for allegedly making him work as a peon in a court for issuing a challan to the brother of one of them.
Metropolitan Magistrate Neeraj Gaur asked joint commissioner of police (traffic) to file an action taken report by Dec 1 after hearing the submission made by complainant and head constable Maheelal Meena’s counsel R.P. Tyagi and S.P. Sharma.
The court direction came after Sharma submitted that Meena had gone to a police station to lodge a complaint but he was turned away.
Tyagi and Sharma told the court that Meena had issued a challan to the brother of a judge in June for riding a two-wheeler without helmet. He said that the violator made a cellphone call and asked him to speak to the person on the other end, but he refused to do so.
Later it was revealed that the man on the other end of phone was a sessions judge, Meena said in his complaint.
The incident took place in east Delhi’s Durgapuri Chowk in Seemapuri.
Meena alleged he was later summoned by a magistrate and harassed and made to work as a peon.
The complainant sought the summoning of the two judicial officers and their trial for allegedly committing various offences under the Indian Penal Code, including hatching of the criminal conspiracy, disobeying of law by public servants, public servant making wrong reports in judicial proceedings and criminal intimidation.
