Hyderabad: Jamat-e-Islami Hind, Andhra Pradesh has condemned the arrests of Muslim youths especially minors in the cases related to Friday violence at Charminar.
AP advisory council of JIH, in a meeting, discussed the prevailing situation in old Hyderabad. The ‘Shoura’ was chaired by JIH AP president Khwaja Arifuddin.
JIH council advised police officials that they should restrain from bias while dealing with protests to maintain peace in the city. Council passed the resolutions demanded that illegal structure in the form of Mandir adjacent to historic charminar should be removed and Chief Minister should provide compensation to the petty traders in old city whom have got affected by frequent forced close down of business establishments by the police.
Jamiatul Ulema Hind Andhra Pradesh chapter has also condemned the sporadic arrests of Muslim youths. In a meeting organized at Jamiat’s headquarter in Hyderabad its president Hafiz Shabbir Ahmed who is also a Congress MLC termed the arrests of Muslim youths a form of police oppression. JUH demanded that all illegal religious structures should be removed from Charminar to avoid any communal tension in future.
Meanwhile seven more Muslim youths are arrested by Special Investigation Team in the Rein Bazar Police Station limits. This an addition to already arrested 21 youths who are been booked in 18 cases related to Charminar Friday violence registered in six different police stations in old city. According to the police arrests are being made by using CCTV camera footage of the violence.
