Agartala : Several women in Tripura staged rallies to express their anguish over the gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman in a Delhi bus.
The protests were organised by the All India Democratic Women Association, which is allied to the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).
Addressing a gathering at Ambassa, 85 km from here, CPI-M politburo member Brinda Karat said Tuesday evening that the national capital topped the country in the number of rape cases.
“The police force in Delhi only looks after the interest of the Congress government,” Karat said.
