Ranchi : Explosives were Thursday recovered from a Maoist hideout in a Jharkhand jungle near here, said police which had launched a manhunt to nab a dreaded guerrilla.
Raids were conducted at Heso jungle situated on the outskirts of Ranchi.
“There was information of presence of Rammohan Munda and a Maoist group in the jungle areas. Two teams conducted raids. The Maoists escaped from the spot,” Saket Kumar, Ranchi’s senior superintendent of police (SSP) told reporters.
The police recovered “400 boosters”, eatables and daily-use things from the Maoist hideout, he said.
Maoist rebels are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
