Hyderabad : PayTM mobile solutions has launched a new service, which enables the bus travelers booking their tickets online through paytm.com to track the estimated arrival time of their bus before they leave for the boarding point.
The Noida-based e-commerce company Tuesday announced that it has launched the industry’s first real time updates of bus location to help the passengers board in time. The service will also be available on mobile, said a company statement here.
The service was launched Tuesday on buses of large operators in Hyderabad, Guntur, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Chennai and other cities in south India.
The company plans to roll out the service in 100 cities across India. More than 1,000 buses with real-time GPS will be made available for commuters in a couple of months.
“Today onwards commuters will have a choice to book a bus journey on Paytm, based on whether the bus has real-time GPS system installed in it or not. Upon booking, they will receive a SMS an hour before the boarding time giving them details of current location of the bus and the estimated time of the arrival at the boarding point.
“At any point of time, user can refresh the link to know the current status of the bus,” the statement said.
“In our endeavor to provide the best and most hassle free bus travel experience to our customers we always try to add value to our offerings,” said Harinder Thakar, CEO Paytm.com.
