Kabul : Afghan police backed by the US-led Coalition forces killed five Taliban fighters in Afghanistan’s central Uruzgan province, a press release of Afghanistan interior ministry said Sunday.
“Police backed by the coalition forces launched an operation in Gohargame village of Charchinar district Saturday, in which five rebels were killed,” the press release added.
Presently the area is under full control of police, it said.
Meanwhile, Afghan National Security Force (ANSF) backed by the US-led Coalition forces killed several insurgents in a fierce gun battle in Shahidi Hasas district of Uruzgan.
The exact number of casualties was not known.
