Oil prices steady above US$93 a barrel

Singapore : Oil prices were little changed Monday amid light trading due to holidays, and after rising more than US$2 a barrel in the previous session on news of improved U.S. consumer spending.

Light, sweet crude for February delivery lost 18 cents to US$93.13 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, midafternoon in Singapore.

Heating oil futures fell a cent to US$2.5991 a gallon (3.8 liters) while gasoline prices dropped 0.45 cent to US$2.375 a gallon.

Natural gas futures dropped 11.6 cents to US$7.074 per 1,000 cubic feet.

In London, February Brent crude fell 16 cents to US$92.30 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange, according to a report of the Associated Press.
